About Aman

Originating from Washington, D.C., Aman Mundle is a costume designer, wardrobe dresser, and artisan based out of Washington, D.C. and New York City. Their passion for costuming stems from an affinity for bridging the worlds of fashion and multifaceted storytelling. Aman’s artistic perspective is also heavily informed by their upbringing in the diverse and vibrant culture of Washington D.C., and a love of the humanities. They are highly meticulous and take pride in crafting the most minute of details.

Aman has a BFA in Costume Design and Technology from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. They were a recipient of the Kenan Excellence Scholarship—a full-ride scholarship awarded to students deemed the best potential artist-scholars based on their abilities in their arts discipline and leadership capabilities. Aman centers their design practice around using costume design as a tool to illuminate character psychology and thematic resonance, approaching each project with a holistic mindset combining dramaturgical research, intuitive design, and an appreciation for the art of storytelling.

In addition to designing, Aman has experience in garment construction, and possesses a variety of specialized skills, including hairstyling, jewelry making, and distressing. When they aren’t working in their studio, Aman is a devoted cat parent who enjoys hosting board game nights, cooking, and listening to podcasts.
